About The Istanbul Architecture Diary

The Architecture Diary is the go-to guide for architecture exhibitions and events in an expanding network of world cities.

Supported by leading museums, galleries, cultural organisations, architecture schools and independent event organisers, the Architecture Diary provides comprehensive listings of the latest exhibitions, installations, talks, debates, film screenings and conferences, tours, walks, and more.

The Architecture Diary launched in London in 2005. For the first time it brought together all architecture events taking place across the city. New York joined the Architecture Diary network in 2015 and Boston in 2017. Ireland joined in 2021, followed by Istanbul in 2022, with more places to follow in the near future.

Why Instanbul?

Turkey, and especially İstanbul, has always been very attractive to people who are interested in culture. Recently, due to some global changes, İstanbul is becoming more popular for creatives from all over the world.

The Istanbul Architecture Diary launched in 2022 with initiation of  founding editor’s Nurgül Yardım Meriçliler and Nurullah Kaya. Having collaborated for many year’s, Nurgül and Nurullah are communication specialists with architectural background, practicing in London and İstanbul.

İstanbul Architecture Diary manages listings primarily in İstanbul while presenting from other cities in Turkey. The platform aims to bring together all the events taking place across the city related to architecture in its broadest sense, to promote these to the industry and beyond in one platform, to show the richness and diversity of İstanbul’s cultural scene, to provide an orientation to local and international audiences and to help them navigate in cultural agenda.

The Architecture Diary is an open platform, allowing everyone who organises architecture and design events to upload and manage their event listings.
