What kind of Istanbul was Istanbul when Reşad Ekrem Koçu was writing the Istanbul Encyclopedia? How did the city and its inhabitants transform from the 1940s, when the encyclopedia was written, to the 1970s? Professor at Kadir Has University Istanbul Studies Center. Dr. Murat Güvenç and architect Yağmur Yıldırım will follow these questions in an interview to be held on Saturday, September 16. Topics such as Istanbul's "populist modernization" and growth process, the demolitions of the Menderes period, the intensification of migration to the city, slums and daily life in the transforming city will be discussed.

The program prepared within the scope of the exhibition No Other Record Found: Reşad Ekrem Koçu and the Istanbul Encyclopedia Archive is open to everyone and free of charge.
