PILEVNELİ is delighted to announce Hüseyin Çağlayan's solo exhibition titled "The Other Side". Known for his works encompassing sculpture, video, and sound installations alongside his designs, Çağlayan explores the possibilities of a more pictorial expression this time. His paintings, executed on paper with acrylic, pencil, and mixed media, are inspired by the artist's own past, experiences, and observations. Focusing on the concepts of observation and being observed, the scenes often position the viewer as an observer, portraying vague scenes, silhouettes, and vivid colors that evoke thoughts and feelings about human nature and surroundings. Despite the ambiguity in these images, the titles of the paintings provide a more explanatory space for reconsidering the scenes. Compositions that bring together the artist's individual impressions and moments from his life create a flexible space open to various interpretations by the viewer.
