The Networks of Dispossession constitute a collective tool of resistance that exposes acts of dispossession, forced evictions, and urban crimes that are rendered invisible under the increasingly oppressive regime in Turkey. Emerging in the spirit of the 2013 Gezi Uprising, this digital memory project makes visible the ongoing plunder of urban spaces perpetuated by the corporate-state-media nexus through cartographic representations.

Recent events, such as police violence against students demanding peace, have once again demonstrated the urgency of defending the publicness of space and knowledge. This network is not merely a data platform; it provides a collective memory and a digital ground for resistance against violations of rights. Each map becomes an instrument of resistance; each act of exposure creates a new terrain for struggle.

The reason for its inclusion in this selection lies in its aim to archive the memory of space and to document the traces of resistance that have been deliberately erased. This project can be understood as a tool that sustains the struggle for the right to the city, transparency, and collective memory amidst today’s repressive conditions. It is a project grounded in the belief that resistance can grow through knowledge and awareness.
