Taksim Maksemi Republic Museum

The Taksim Maksem (Water Distribution Chamber), one of the landmark structures of Taksim Square from which the square gets its name, has reopened its doors as the "Republic Museum" after extensive restoration and repurposing efforts completed by IBB Heritage, designed by do[x]architecture.

Republic Museum, with its comprehensive content spanning from the years of the national struggle to the Republic of Turkey, its collection that includes personal belongings of Atatürk, and its events, has become one of the representatives of the spirit of the Republic in the square.
