Çağlar Fidan will present a selection from the notes of old Istanbul songs in the encyclopedia, from the cantos of female singers such as Şamram and Peruz Hanımlar, who performed in Galata "batakhanes" and became famous among the mob of late Ottoman Istanbul, and from the musical tastes of the tulumba players who settled in the city's musical coffeehouses.
