On 22 December 2022, Arter’s performance hall Karbon will host Jerfi Aji for a concert organised to mark the launch of his album “Alexander Scriabin: Poems, Colours, Flames” which was released earlier this year under the Italian music label Vermeer in the context of the recording prize the artist had won at the Sicily International Piano Competition in 2019.
Featuring a repertoire comprised of piano works by Alexander Scriabin (1872–1915) who developed an unconventional approach to the tonal system and created a unique harmonic language within a synaesthetic framework, the concert will be accompanied with live visuals designed by Can Memişoğulları. In addition to Scriabin’s compositions, the performance will also feature selected works by his contemporaries, such as Claude Debussy and Enrique Granados, presenting an exciting combination of music with visuals created via a custom software specially developed by Memişoğulları for this occasion.
Bringing together Jerfi Aji’s musical virtuosity with sophisticated visual features designed by Can Memişoğulları, the concert will provide the audience with the unique experience of “looking through sound”.
