The Haliç Shipyard hosts Istanbul Sanat, the city's new cultural, arts, and lifestyle center. Within Istanbul Sanat, the Istanbul Art Museum opened its doors with the "Ah Güzel Istanbul" exhibition, bringing together different collections and institutions.
The exhibition offers visitors the chance to see, among other pieces, the portrait of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, the painting of Kanuni Sultan Süleyman by Italian artist Cristofano Dell'Altissimo, and the medal of Fatih Sultan Mehmet signed by Costanzo da Ferrara.
The exhibition traces the layers of Istanbul's artistic accumulation by navigating through different periods and forms of expression; presents over 300 works from valuable Turkish painters such as Süleyman Seyyid, Hoca Ali Rıza, Şehzade Abdülmecid Efendi, Halil Paşa, Avni Lifij, Feyhaman Duran, İbrahim Çallı, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Komet, Avni Arbaş, Eren Eyüboğlu, Fikret Mualla, Hikmet Onat, Fahrelnissa Zeid, Şevket Dağ, Zeki Kocamemi, Burhan Doğançay, Cihat Burak, Hamit Görele, Naile Akıncı, Mehmet Güleryüz, Ferruh Başağa, Neşe Erdok, Tevfik Fikret, Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem, Mıgırdiç Civanyan, Mihri Hanım, Sabri Berkel, Hale Asaf, Fikret Otyam, Selma Gürbüz, and others.
As a result of collective effort, the exhibition brings together leading collections from the art world, including the Ekrem İmamoğlu Collection, Ulaş Değirmenci Collection, Mustafa Taviloğlu Collection, Merey Collection, İyem Collection, Dr. Şükrü Bozluolcay Collection, Meir Dalva Collection, Lale-Cengiz Akıncı Collection, and Bilge Collection, among others, for the audience to enjoy.
